Who we are
This policy covers usebiom.com, the website for Biom, and its waitlist. Biom is run by Jesse Musa in the United States (“Biom”, “we” or “us”). If you have a question about it, email jesse@usebiom.com.
The Biom app isn’t out yet, so this policy covers only the website. Before the app launches, we’ll update this page to say how it handles your accounts and your data.
What we collect
We collect only what the site needs to run the waitlist and to see which pages bring people to it.
- What you give us. Your email address when you join the waitlist, the plan you picked, and your answer if you tell us what you’d use Biom for.
- What the site records when you visit. A random ID saved in your browser, so we can count visits without knowing who you are; the pages you open; when you press Join the Waitlist; the page or site that sent you here; how long after opening a page you pressed it; and whether the visit looks like it came from an automated bot. It doesn’t record your name or your browser and device details. If you join the waitlist, the same ID is saved with your entry, so we can see which pages led you to join.
- What our service providers see. Like every website, the services that send you this site see your IP address and basic details about your browser when you load it.
Cookies
The site doesn’t use cookies to track you, and it has no advertising or outside analytics trackers. The random visit ID is kept in your browser’s local storage, and clearing your browser’s site data removes it. One cookie exists only on our own team’s browsers, to keep our visits out of the counts.
How we use it
- To tell you when Biom launches, at the email you gave us.
- To understand which pages lead people to join the waitlist, and which plans and uses they care about.
- To keep bots and our own visits out of those counts.
We don’t sell your information, share it for advertising, or use it to follow you across other websites.
How long we keep it
We keep your waitlist entry until you ask us to remove it or we stop running the waitlist. Visit records hold no name or email on their own, and we keep them for as long as they help us understand how the site is used.
Your choices
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, by emailing jesse@usebiom.com from the address you signed up with. We’ll answer within 30 days. Depending on where you live, for example in California, the European Union or the United Kingdom, you may have more rights over your information, and we’ll honor those requests wherever you are.
Children
Biom isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has joined the waitlist, email us and we’ll delete it.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect what we collect and limit who can see it. No website or service is perfectly secure, so we can’t promise that it never will be.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. If a change affects how we use your email, we’ll tell you at that email before it takes effect.
